KAKE Weather Radio

KAKE, The Weather Authority, is teaming up with Walgreen’s & Orscheln stores throughout KAKEland to offer all-hazards weather radios at a reduced price for our viewers.

The Midland WR 100 is a state-of-the-art digital alert radio that requires little set up and is easy to use. It's available at a reduced price of $29.99 from now through June 30, 2011. The radios normally retail for $49.95.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Midland and these fine retailers to raise the awareness of this valuable tool available to our audience,” said Jay Prater, KAKEland WeatherPlex Managing Meteorologist.

“We’re always going to be there for our viewers, tracking the storms as they hit Kansas, but there’s nothing like having an alarm programmed for your own county,” said Prater. “When tornadoes threaten, it gives a voice, siren, or tone alert. Even in the middle of the night you’ll know when to take cover and get your family out of harm’s way,” he continued.
