A preliminary report indicates an EF-3 tornado hit Southeast Wichita late Saturday. Survey crews from the National Weather Service have spent the day examining damage and storm tracks.
EF-3 tornadoes have estimated winds between 136 and 165 miles per hour.
Survey crews said an EF-4 tornado hit near Kanapolis Lake in Ellsworth County. EF-4 tornadoes have estimated winds between 166 and 200 miles per hour.
Damage consistent with an EF-1 tornado was spotted in NW Dickinson and SE Ottawa Counties. EF-1 tornadoes can carry winds estimated between 86 and 110 miles per hour.
