Gusty winds are to blame for a motorcycle accident that sent a Hutchinson man to the hospital.
It happened in Reno County on K-96 near 56th St. early Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s department said John Meeker, 67, was riding south on K-96, when he tried to make a left turn on 56th St. A gust of wind caught the motorcycle, forced it into the south ditch. Meeker lost control while bringing the bike back onto the roadway. It crashed into the north ditch.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a leg injury. He is expected to recover.
