Snow Knocks Out Power To Hundreds In NE Kansas

Up to 1,000 of Bluestem Electric Cooperative customers in northeast Kansas were without power Monday night after heavy snow knocked down poles and power lines.
Bluestem manager Ken Maginley says crews were planning to work into the evening before going home for the night and resuming work Tuesday morning.
Maginley says workers from other electrical companies were helping restore power that was lost when nearly a foot of wet, heavy snow fell over the area. The Washington County Sheriff's Department reported 8 to 10 inches of snow fell throughout the day in some places.
Bluestem serves about 6,800 customers in 11 counties, primarily in rural areas.
