There are reports a dairy farm on the south side of Garden City may have sustained storm damage Wednesday evening. Finney County dispatchers also confirm that there is an ammonia leak on a property near the dairy farm along Plymell Rd. south of Garden City.

KAKEland stormchaser Mike Phelps provided live pictures on KAKE and KUPK when a tornado first touched down just southwest of Garden City around 7pm.

The elementary school in Plymell will be closed Thursday due to power lines down in the area. The school has no electricity and school officials don't know when the electricity will be restored.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the eastern half of Kansas under a slight risk of severe weather Thursday. Large hail is possible. KAKE Meteorologist Ben Pringle says some areas could see heavy rain tonight as well.
