They can't fire him because he's fat, but can because he's physically abusive. I pray God will teach him the importance of proper diet and good health before it's too late.

Posted By: Not a fan: I know this was a long time ago and is nothing but a faded memory for most KU fans but back in 1982 when KU wasn't doing well in basketball (Ted Owens last year by the way) I went to the last home game of the season and Allen Field House wasn't even half full and the fans that were there booed! Like I said its been a long time and they've been Kings of basketball since but I haven't forgotten that day and know that KU fans are as fickle as the next even though they think they are a cut above everyone.

That said, I can't believe all this fuss because Mangino poked a player in the chest with his finger...GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I wonder if there is a baby playpen big enough for all these big crybaby's and their equally big crybaby parents.

In my playing days, I've seen coaches slam player against lockers, smack them in the helmets. It's all to fire the players up. If you can't handle a little action from the coaches, then maybe you just don't have the junk to be playing football! It's a tough sport, people need to quit pansying it up.

He's a great coach, he has lots of Big 12 championships to. So 1 little losing season and there he goes? Come on people, it's your typical what has he done for us lately. Some day this great man will be in the college football hall of fame and ku can't wait to get rid of him. What is wrong with the world, I as a educated ku alum, will not stand for it. I'm writing my congressman as we speak.

Bad thing for KU is that fans do turn against a team when they are losing. It's one season after several great seasons. I hope Mangino has an explanation for what is going on. Schools, players, and organizations take too much for granted.
