HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) - A Hutchinson man was arrested Friday afternoon for attempted second-degree murder, authorities say.

The Hutchinson Police Department says on Friday at approximately 4:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of North Arthur for a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a woman with life-threatening injuries. The woman was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and later to a Wichita hospital where she remains in serious, but stable condition.  

HPD says a suspect was identified and at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday, 41-year-old Joseph D. Castorena of Hutchinson was arrested for attempted murder in the second degree, sexual battery and parole violation.
