WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita Police Department says they are currently investigating a disturbing allegation of animal cruelty that was reported on April 17 to Wichita Police and shared on social media.

The incident involves a man with an animal in a local park, captured on video demonstrating potential cruelty, police say.

Upon receiving the video, the Wichita Police Department initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unsettling event. The department is urgently seeking to locate and interview the subject seen in the video to determine the nature of the incident and whether any laws have been violated.

"We take allegations of animal cruelty very seriously and are unwavering in our commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all animals in our community," Chief of Police Joe Sullivan said. "We urge anyone with information about this case to come forward to help us resolve this matter swiftly."
