WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - If you have any old TVs or printers that you're looking to throw away, Sedgwick County is hosting an event that could help you out.

On select days in April, Sedgwick County residents can head to the county's West Yard located at 4701 South West Street to dispose of any old electronics for free.

Sedgwick County residents can safely dispose of computers, laptops, printers, televisions, cell phones, batteries, tablets, network devices (routers, modems, etc.), VCRs, DVD players, video games, scanners, fax machines and more. Click here for a complete list.

The event runs from April 18-20 and 25-27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sedgwick County said it contracts with a zero waste vendor, so all electronics collected are reused or recycled. Nothing is thrown in a landfill or shipped overseas.

"Hard drives are erased or destroyed to prevent access to stored data," the county said in a release. "This collection is intended for individual households and businesses, excluding those selling or recycling electronics."
