2 arrested in death of man found on side of road near Bel Aire

BEL AIRE, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities have arrested two Wichita men in connection to the shooting death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found near Bel Aire. 

Lt. Tim Myers with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said 33-year-old Thomas Armstrong and 30-year-old Efrain Arroyo II, were each booked Saturday for first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery. 

The body of Christian Hernandez was found last Wednesday morning near the railroad tracks in the 12000 block of East 45th Street North, near Greenwich. He had been shot.

Lt. Myers thanked the public for helping the sheriff's office locate a white sedan associated with the case

Hernandez's death is still under investigation. Additional information has not been released.

Authorities say a man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound on the side of a road near Bel Aire.

Officers were called at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to the report of a man found lying near the railroad tracks in the 12000 block of East 45th Street North, which is east of Greenwich. 

Lt. Tim Myers with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said responding deputies noticed a gunshot wound on the man's body and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was approximately 25 to 30 years old, but his identity has not been determined. 

The sheriff's office is working the case as a homicide.
