Icy and frigid start to the week

Posted: Updated:

After a very mild and bright weekend, winter returns to KAKEland to kick off the work week. Overnight rain, sleet and snow have left roads damp in South Central Kansas, including Wichita. With temperature below freezing, isolated slick spots will be possible especially on elevated roadways. In addition to the possibility of slick roads, cars that were parked outside are iced over.

The precipitation is expected to come to an end during the morning hours for most of KAKEland. This afternoon, high temperatures across KAKEland will only be in the low 20 to lower 30s with wind chills in the teens.
