4 hurt in east Wichita shootingPosted: Updated:
Investigators are trying to piece together clues as to what led up to a shooting early Sunday in east Wichita.
Officers were in an area, south of Kellogg and Oliver, when shots rang out around 3 a.m. Sunday. They closed off Orme Street and a strip mall, as a crime lab processed evidence left behind. They determined that more than 50 rounds were fired off, said Wichita Police Sgt. Danny Brown.
“This is one big long scene and it’s about a block-and-a-half long,” Brown said. “A suspect came up from the south and came up and possibly confronted some other people up here. There were shots fired. I don’t know. Different people ran in different directions, but we do have four people that were shot.”
The people shot were taken to various hospitals. Brown said they are interviewing the two men and two women shot.
