LAWRENCE, Kan. (KAKE) -

The family of a missing Kansas man is hoping to get closure decades after he was last seen.

Elvin Everett Crist vanished on Dec. 10, 1996, from Lawrence.

According to a June 2012 article in the Lawrence-Journal World, Elvin finished work at the family landscaping business. His truck was found later at a parking lot at the University of Kansas. In the LJW article, his brother said that Elvin didn't have a criminal record, history of drug abuse or a reason to kill himself.

A person used Elvin’s personal checks, but investigators could not find the person behind the crime.
