ANDOVER, Kan. (KAKE) -

A teenage girl is recovering after she was shot at a home in Andover.

Andover police were called Saturday afternoon and told a 15-year-old girl had been driven to a Wichita hospital. Officers learned the shooting happened at a home in the 400 block of West 10th Street.

Witnesses said an 18-year-old was handling a handgun that he thought was unloaded.  The gun fired, striking the girl in the lower leg. Several people were inside the home when the shot was fired.

The girl is in good condition. No one has been arrested.  The case will be presented to the Butler County Attorney to determine if charges should be filed.
