For years to come, fans who make their way into Koch Arena will be greeted by a bronze life size statue of Dave "The Rave" Stallworth.

Stallworth is widely considered one of the greatest Shocker players in the history of WSU. He was a three time All-American and helped lead Wichita State to a Final Four appearance in 1965. Stallworth set 18 records while suiting up for the Shockers including the highest career point-per-game average with 24.2. All the members of the 1964-65 team were in attendance today except for Stallworth who sadly passed away last year.

"Dave loved this basketball program so much and he loved Wichita so much and it means a great deal, I just wish he was here to see it and know what happened," his widow, Gloria Stallworth, told KAKE.

"You know he could have carried us on his back all the time, but he didn't. He made teammates of us all and made us all better players to play with him," said Dave Leach, one of Stallworth's teammates.
