WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

More than $20,000 has been raised for the six children of a Wichita couple who died in a murder-suicide in Derby over the weekend.

Since authorities say Randy Gile fatally shot his wife, Kristin, and turned the gun on himself Saturday evening, more than 460 people have pledged over $23,035 on a GoFundMe page. The funds will also help cover funeral expenses.

An update on the page thanked the community for its outpouring of support. In addition to the money raised, multiple clothing donations have come in. Kristin's cousin, who started the fundraiser, said Salon Teased at 916 East Douglas in Wichita is taking donations of outdoor toys for the kids.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says deputies and Derby police responded to the shooting at around 5:20 p.m. Saturday near 63rd Street South and Rock Road. A witness told KAKE News a silver car and black SUV had been speeding, shots were being fired and the car sideswiped the SUV.

The witness said a man got out of the silver car, shot the woman in the SUV and then shot himself. The sheriff's office on Monday identified them as Kristin and Randy Gile, both 33 years old.
