TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Thousands of people waited in line for a chance to see President Donald Trump in Topeka.

The president fired up the crowd just a few hours after Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation, and Trump rallied behind Kansas Gubernatorial Candidate Kris Kobach.

Some Kansans traveled hours to see the president in person.

"We got here at 1:00 A.M.," said one attendee from the Dodge City area.

Inside, the president used Kavanaugh's divisive confirmation as a segue to call on the crowd to vote Republican next month, particularly in the Kansas Governor's race.

"He (Kris Kobach) loves this state, he loves this state so much," said President Trump.

On-stage, Kris Kobach cemented himself alongside the president.

"I want to do for Kansas what President Trump has done for America," said Kobach.
