Wichita police: Woman robbed, forced to withdraw $8,000Posted: Updated:
Wichita police are looking for suspects after a woman was robbed at gunpoint and forced to withdraw thousands of dollars from her bank account.
The incident started at approximately 12 p.m. Tuesday at a Walmart located at the 3030 N. Rock Road. Once arriving, police say a 65-year-old woman reported being approached by a woman who asked for a ride to the Walgreens at 3770 North Woodlawn.
Video footage from Walmart shows the suspect vehicle, a silver Cadillac STS, being driven by a man who was following the victim and the female suspect out of the Walmart parking lot and to Walgreens.
Upon arriving at the Walgreens, the male suspect got out of his car and got into the victim's vehicle. Police say the victim was then robbed at gunpoint by the woman, who stole money from the victim's purse and the victim's wedding ring.
The suspects then forced the victim to drive to a nearby bank and withdraw $8,000 from her bank account.
The suspects fled in the silver Cadillac STS. Officers responded to the robbery at around 4:15 p.m.
The male suspect was described as black and wearing dark khaki pants a light-colored shirt and a tan hat. The black female suspect was seen wearing a tan hat, dark pants and a gold necklace.
Video footage also show that the two suspects approached multiple people in the parking lot between 10 a.m. Tuesday up until the time of the robbery. Anyone who was contacted by these two suspects is asked to call police.
