Wichita police search for suspect in credit union robbery

Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a Meritrust Credit Union in southeast Wichita.

Officers were called at around 11:15 a.m. Thursday to the report of a robbery at the Meritrust at 2900 South Oliver. An FBI spokesperson said the suspect gave a teller a note demanding money. No weapon was shown.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was described as a black man about 25 to 30 years old. He stands approximately 6-foot-1, weighs 270 pounds and wore a white t-shirt, a brown jacket, a blue skull cap and yellow-colored safety classes.
