Kansas man sentenced to 20 years for child sex crimes

A Kansas man has been sentenced for more than 20 years in prison for child sex crimes.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said 25-year-old Kevin Michael Cross from Hill city, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of aggravated criminal sodomy with a child. A judge ruled to have Cross serve his sentence in the Kansas Department of Corrections. 

The judge also ruled to have Cross on lifetime post-release supervision and sex offender registration.

The child sex crimes occurred between October and December 2016. Cross has been previously charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.
