Wichita fire victim identified

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita fire investigators said a man who was smoking while on oxygen was killed in a house fire Friday night.

Fire crews were called to a home in the 3100 block of North Woodland at 6:15 p.m. 

Charles Wilson, 72, died in the fire.    He is the third person to die in a fire in Wichita this year.

Authorities say a man has died following the report of a house fire on the city's north side.

Crews were called at around 6:15 p.m. to the report of a fire in the 3100 block of Woodland North, near 29th and Arkansas. Wichita Fire Chief Tammy Snow said there were no obvious signs of fire when they arrived on scene.

Crews entered the home to find it full of smoke and found a man who was not breathing. He was pronounced dead a short time later, a dispatch supervisor said.

The incident remains under investigation. The man's name and age were not released.
