GARDNER, Kan. (AP) -

A judge has found sufficient evidence for a woman to be tried in the death of her fiance's 2-year-old daughter.

The Kansas City Star reports that 25-year-old Lindsey Thomasson entered a not guilty plea after she was bound over for trial Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder. Prosecutors allege that Presley Porting died of child abuse in February in Gardner.

A trial date could be set at her next court appearance in January. Thomasson is jailed on $2 million bond.

Gardner police said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that Lindsey Thomasson was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Presley Porting on February 7. A criminal complaint states Thomasson killed Presley while committing or attempting to commit child abuse.

The little girl was found unresponsive inside her father’s house in the 400 block of South Hickory Street.

Investigators said Thomasson lived with Porting's biological father at the time of the girl's death. She's being held at the Johnson County Jail on $2 million bond.

A GoFundMe has been started to raise money for support for Presley's family. If you'd like to help, you can find the donation page HERE.
