EMPORIA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Lyon County authorities seek the public's help in solving the murder of a 19-year-old from Emporia.

On the morning of September 6, deputies were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle near Road 160 and Road T, which is about five miles east of Emporia. The vehicle had been on fire and the body of Jesus Avila-Galvin Jr., was inside.

"The KBI, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Emporia Police Department, the Office of the State Fire Marshall, and the Emporia State University Police continue their efforts to resolve this case, and believe even the smallest detail could aid in bringing justice to Avila’s family," the KBI said in a news release.
