Police arrest 4th suspect in murder of Salina man

SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities have arrested a fourth person in connection to the death of a Salina man last month.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan tells the Salina Post that 20-year-old Austin Bott was arrested Friday for failure to appear. He was also wanted for questioning in the death of Brandon Shelby, whose body was discovered near the Smoky Hill River Bridge on North East Street on the morning of June 6.

Bott was booked into jail Saturday for first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary.

Police arrested 30-year-old Charles Rodgers and 40-year-old James Pavey for first-degree murder on June 7. Brandon St. Clair, 34 was also arrested that week in connection with Shelby's death.

According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Shelby, 29, suffered blunt force trauma to the head and had other severe injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
