Perry Ellis loves to dunk almost as much as we love to watch. "It's a lot of fun, just get everyone hyped. Gets the crowd into it, gets me into it", Ellis said.
Ellis has been slamming and scoring his way to an average of 24 points per game, tops in the City League and 5th in the state. But more importantly, he's helped his team to the top of the City League. The Falcons are ranked 2nd in the latest 6A Coaches poll. "The thing that Perry understands is that he's part of something bigger than himself. He's an important part of the team. He's a real delight to get to coach on a daily basis. He's goal-oriented, works very hard and he's only 16. The sky is the limit for this kid", said Heights High Coach Joe Auer.
The Falcons currently hold a two game lead in the City League with five games to play.
Although he is only a sophomore, Ellis has received scholarship offers from several universities including Wichita State, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Memphis, Oklahoma, and Arkansas-Little Rock.
