Kevin Young's goal early in overtime completed the Thunder's come-from-behind bid on Sunday afternoon, beating the Missouri Mavericks 4-3 at INTRUST Bank Arena. Neil Trimm, Chad Painchaud and Young led the way for the Thunder as each had two points for the Thunder. It was the second-straight comeback win for Wichita on the weekend as the Thunder came back on Saturday night and won at Missouri by the final of 6-4. The Thunder lead the season-series 3-0 and play the Mavericks seven more times this season. Wichita's record jumps over the .500 mark and will have some time off before hosting Rapid City next week.

Missouri scored the first goal of the game just 38 seconds in as Kenton Miller got to a loose puck behind the Thunder net, followed up a rebound and made it 1-0. Before tonight, Missouri had not scored the first goal in their six previous contests. The Mavericks took advantage of a boarding minor to Trimm and scored on a power play to make it 2-0 with a goal from Dave Pszenyczny. With 39 seconds remaining in the opening frame, Painchaud cut the lead to 2-1 as he caught a pass from Lowe on the left side of the net and slid it past Mavericks netminder Austin Lee.

In the second period, Trimm scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the game at two at 6:25. After a turnover at the Thunder blue line, Kevin Young came down the slot on a four-on-three, found Trimm and the Thunder tied it at two. However, Missouri grabbed the lead back just 33 seconds later as Miller netted his second of the night after sitting out Saturday's game as a healthy scratch and Missouri took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.

Dave Inman pulled the Thunder even with just over five minutes to go in the third period as he took a wrist shot from along the left wall at the hash marks and tied the game at three. The Mavericks were awarded a late power play, but were unable to put it past Regan and the game was sent to extra time.

It didn't take long for the Thunder in overtime to claim victory as Kevin Young found a loose puck in the slot and snapped it past Lee to give the Thunder a 4-3 win. Young's goal came 32 seconds into the extra session and gave Wichita their first overtime win of the season in their first overtime on home-ice.

With the win, Wichita improves to 4-3-1 on the season and wins all three games against the Mavericks on the weekend. Painchaud, Trimm and Lowe continue to find the score sheet and extend their point-scoring streaks. Painchaud added two points (1g, 1a) to extend his streak to eight games. Trimm also had a goal and an assist and has recorded points in the last seven games while Lowe's assist gives him points in six-straight.

Regan earns his second win of the season, making 29 saves on 32 shots while Austin Lee stopped 23 of 27 shots he faced in the losing effort. Wichita went 0-for-4 on the power play and Missouri went 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Wichita will have the week off before returning to home-ice to host the Rapid City Rush for a pair of games on Friday, November 9th and Saturday, November 10th. For tickets, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena box office or online at .
