Kerr wins U-S Open

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (AP) -- Cristie Kerr (kur) closed with a
1-under-70 to win the U-S Women's Open by two shots over Lorena
Ochoa (lohr-AY'-nah oh-CHOH'-uh) and Angela Park.
The 29-year-old Kerr made only two bogeys over her final 45
holes on the Pine Needles course in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Kerr played 23 holes today after finishing the weather-delayed
third round this morning. Her tap in for par on the final hole gave
her a 5-under total and her first major championship. It's her
tenth career victory.
Ochoa will have to wait for the Women's British Open at St.
Andrews for her next shot at a major championship. The Mexican
closed with a 71, while the 18-year-old Park shot 70.
Morgan Pressel began the final round one shot off the lead, but
finished at 3-over after shooting a 6-over-77.
