Kansas State coach expects Beasley to turn pro

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas State Coach Frank Martin says he believes star freshman Michael Beasley will head into the NBA draft.

Martin says the 6-foot-10 power forward loves college life, but it's the right thing to do because he's likely to be the top pick in the draft.

Kevin Durant set freshman records last year with Texas and was the second overall player taken in the draft. Martin says Durant is now worth about $100 million dollars counting salary and endorsement money.

Most draft projections have Beasley going first overall after averaging 26 points and 12 rebounds.

He and his mother are flying back to their home in the Washington area to discuss plans with family. Martin says he will talk with Beasley next week and then meet with him again after the Final Four.
