KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Chiefs are releasing
veteran cornerback Ty Law.
A team official says the Chiefs also will release linebacker
Kendrell Bell, tight end Jason Dunn and defensive lineman James
The moves were first reported in The Kansas City Star.
Guard John Welbourn and receiver Eddie Kennison already have
been released, and several other veterans are likely to follow as
the Chiefs shift their focus to younger players.
Law was a five-time Pro Bowler who played on three Super
Bowl-winning teams with New England.
He's the active NFL leader with 50 career interceptions.
Kansas City also agreed to terms on a five-year contract with
punter Dustin Colquitt. He was fifth in the NFL with a net average
of 39.1 yards.
