Hutchinson RB/LB Ben Heeney verbally committed to the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday.

Hutch head coach Randy Dreiling confirmed Sunday that Heeney gave Turner Gill and KU a verbal commitment while in Lawrence for Saturday's homecoming loss to Texas A&M.

Rivals.com reports that Heeney will play linebacker for the Jayhawks. Heeney is also one of the state's top rushers with more than 1300 yards through week 8.
