KAKE Sports Athlete Of The Week: Amber Eichkorn

Over the weekend Amber blew away the field in the high school race at the Wild Wind Cross Country Festival at the Kansas Coliseum.

"I get out there, do what Coach (Mike) Pope tells me and run my heart out." said Amber. "For me, it's a stress reliever and something I love to do. That keeps pushing to want to get better and better."

Amber's 2010 state title was the first ever by a GWAL cross country runner. She also excels in the classroom, maintaining a 3.85 GPA on a full AP schedule.
