May 7- A House-Senate conference panel will send the Legislature a $108 million Kansas school finance package.

The deal is viewed by supporters as the final offer to boost education funding next fiscal year.

Under the new plan the five-point-three percent state sales tax would increase to five-point-45 percent. A two and a half percent surcharge would be imposed on individual income taxes.

The proposal would take $8 million from cash reserves.

Any new funding approved by the Legislature would be added to the two and three-quarter billion in state aid to school districts in the full operating budget, already signed by Governor Sebelius.

Senators plan to debate the supplemental plan before the House considers it.
