Joe Biden has cast his ballot.
The Democratic vice presidential contender voted shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday at a private school about half a mile from his Delaware home.
Biden walked into the school holding the hand of his mother, Catherine Biden.
Biden's wife, Jill, and daughter, Ashley, also cast their ballots. After emerging from the voting booth, Biden gave a thumbs up and kissed his wife.
He joked with his mother, saying "Don't tell them who you voted for."
Biden waved to more than 100 supporters gathered outside the school before stepping into a waiting car.
The appearance at the polling place is expected to be his only appearance in Delaware on election day.
