Republican Jerry Moran hasn't had much trouble keeping the seat for the state's 1st Congressional District.
Neither major political party expects that to change in today's election.
Moran faces Democrat James Bordonaro, a former attorney from Emporia, who's making his first run for public office.
Moran is seeking his seventh term, having first won the seat in 1996. In 2006, he defeated the Democratic challenger with 79 percent of the vote. His only challenger in 2004 was a Libertarian.
The 1st District includes 69 of the state's 105 counties, most of them in western and central Kansas.
