Kansas State is ranked no. 1 in the BCS standings, and secures its first top ranking in school history, ESPN announced Sunday night.
The Wildcats are undefeated at 10-0 and are expected to play no. 2 Oregon in the BCS National Championship Game if both teams finish the season undefeated.
Kansas State will play at Baylor on Saturday, followed by a bye week, and will finish its schedule at home against #15 Texas.
Oregon still has games against #13 Stanford and #16 Oregon State, and will likely play in the Pac-12 Championship Game. A 13-0 Oregon team would likely hold the no. 1 ranking, trading places with an undefeated Kansas State team heading into a matchup between the two for the national title.
The BCS Rankings are as follows:
1. Kansas State
3. Notre Dame
8. Texas A&M
9. South Carolina
10. Florida State
