North Korea threatened Wednesday to wipe the United States off the map. The Official Korean Central News Agency said if the U.S. imperialists start another war, the army and people of Korea will wipe the aggressors on the globe once and for all.

This all comes as an American destroyer continues to
shadow a North Korean ship off China's coast.

The situation sets up what could be the first test of a new U.N.
Security council resolution authorizing members states to inspect
North Korean vessels suspected of carrying banned weapons or
materials. The cargo ship left port a week ago and appears to be
headed for Myanmar -- about a two-week journey.

The sanctions are punishment for an underground nuclear test
that the communist regime carried out last month in defiance of
earlier U.N. resolutions.

Pyongyang has said it would consider the interception of any
North Korean vessel "an act of war." State media today is
accusing the U.S. of fostering "the worst-ever tension" between
the Koreas.

While a U.S. official said a week ago that the U.S. destroyer
has not order to intercept the ship, experts says it will need to
refuel soon. The resolution prohibits member states from providing
such services to ships accused of transporting banned goods.
