There are many rumors surrounding the pull tabs on aluminum cans. One viewer has heard that there are places that will pay up to $100 for a gallon jug filled with these little pieces of aluminum. Do pull tabs really have special value? Good question.
It’s been said that the pull tabs are made from “pure aluminum” and are therefore worth more than the rest of the can. But in fact, the pull tabs are made from the same material and are worth very little. Some recycle centers don’t even take the tabs.
One million tabs are worth about $360. Snopes.com suggests instead of collecting a million pull tabs, collect a million pennies. That would be worth $10,000.
