Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.
If you live in south Wichita or north Wichita, there's a chance some fire trucks woke you up on their way past. Otherwise, it was a relatively quiet night in and near the city.
Firefighters were fist called to the report of a fire in the 1400 block of East Jump Street, southwest of Hydraulic and Wassail, a little before 11:30 p.m. When they go there, they learned the fire that had been reported was a trash fire and it was under control.
A few minutes later, crews on the other side of town were called to a house fire near 24th and Kansas. Emergency dispatchers tell KAKE News there was a small fire in the kitchen and firefighters put it out pretty quickly. Nobody was hurt.
If you notice emergency traffic in your neighborhood while you're trying to sleep, you can ask us about it on our Good Morning Kansas Facebook page and we'll look for an answer.
