Police are calling a shooting that happened late last night in north Wichita accidental.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1500 block of North Woodland. When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say the victim and his roommate were hosting a barbecue at the home last night. The victim was showing his gun to the roommate, who accidentally pulled the trigger and shot him.
Two others were at the home, and have since been interviewed by officers. Police have ruled the shooting accidental but it's unclear if any charges will be filed.
