An inmate who escaped from the Barton County Jail in Great Bend has been captured.
The Barton County Sheriff said Lee Dean was located at a house at 201 Plum Street in Great Bend at 11:40 a.m. Dean had been discovered missing late Sunday during a jail count.
Tips from the public led Barton County authorities to the house on Plum Street. Dean and another person inside the home surrendered without incident.
The second person in the home will likely face charges of aiding and abetting.
Dean was being held for a probation violation.
An inmate worker escaped from the Barton County Jail in Great Bend sometime Sunday.
A statement from the Sheriff's Office says Lee Dean was discovered missing around 10:55 p.m., during a late-night jail count. He was behind bars for a probation violation.
Dean is 23, Caucasian, stands six-foot-one and weighs 150 pounds, with brown eyes and hair. Officers think he may be heading for Hutchinson, because he has contacts there.
