Derby police say to keep an eye out for your neighbors after several home burglaries have them searching for thieves.

Brendan Koestner lives in a small neighborhood east of Rock Road in the north part of Derby. He and other homeowners are keeping a close eye out for anything suspicious.

"We do know each other's cars, know what to look for," he said.

Police are looking for several thieves who broke into three homes and tried to break into another all in one evening.

"Derby is a community that you don't usually hear about these types of things," said homeowner Nathan Pryor.

What police say is so surprising is that Derby has seen a 14 percent drop in burglaries in 2012. Now, investigators just hope to get enough clues to stop the thieves before they strike again.

Derby Police Chief Robert Lee says there was another home burglary in that same area Saturday night. So far, there are no suspects in any of the crimes.
