A SpiritAerosystems employee remains hospitalized one day after an accident at the Wichita plane manufacturing company.
It happened in Plant II, 3801 S. Oliver St., around 5 p.m. Monday.
Scanner traffic indicated that a 30-year-old man fell several feet while on the job. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center not breathing.
Ken Evans, Senior Manager for Spirit, released a statement saying:
“We are deeply saddened by the injury to one of our team members. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority. We do not yet know all of the circumstances surrounding this injury. At this point, we do know the incident occurred about 5 p.m. Monday in Plant II. We are conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and are cooperating fully with outside authorities. We have offered assistance to the family and are keeping our teammate in our thoughts and prayers.”
Hospital officials tell KAKE News the patient remains in critical condition.
