WICHITA, Kan Spirit Aerosystems is rescinding layoff notices to two dozen engineers.
On September 12th, Spirit issued approximately 150 layoff notices to salaried and management workers in Wichita, with many of them being engineers.
Spirit spokesman Ken Evans said that, since that date, the company got new work they weren't expecting which changed their employment needs. KAKE News has done recent stories about Spirit hiring due to increases in production rates involving Boeing airplane programs, including the 737 and 787 models.
Evans said the change involves engineers with specific skills.
