Layoff notices have gone out at Wichita's Bombardier Learjet plant.
Nearly 100 workers received layoff notices late last week. Bombardier Communications Director Danielle Boudreau said the notices were part of layoffs previously announced in April, 2009. Boudreau said the company will continue to find temporary work for the employees but those assignments will end in July and August.
The layoffs will be a mix of office and plant employees.
Meanwhile, Learjet is hiring engineers for the Learjet 85 program. Wichita will be responsible for design, engineering and final assembly of the Learjet 85.
