The Kansas Livestock Association is urging its members to connect with consumers and advocate for their industry.

The association is holding its annual convention Thursday and Friday in Wichita.
Several presentations planned for Thursday touch on responding to what the association calls misleading accusations by animal rights activists.

The president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Forrest Roberts, will speak Friday on some of the issues the group is addressing in Washington.

Republican Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas is also scheduled to talk Friday about issues affecting producers. Brownback also plans to address his run for Kansas governor and where he stands on state livestock issues.
