DERBY, Kan A fourth Wichita-area Chick-fil-A appears to be in the works.
The Derby Planning Commission has a site review for Chick-fil-A listed on its June 19 agenda.
The Atlanta-based company appears to have settled on a location at 1818 N. Rock Road. That location is north of the Olive Garden in the Derby Marketplace.
Chick-fil-A’s corporate office fields location inquiries, but a request for information about the Derby site wasn’t immediately returned.
Derby requires a plan review for all new developments within the city. The applicant presents a proposed development plan, which details how the site will look.
In some cases, this process is merely a formality.
If Chick-fil-A does end up building in Derby, it will join two other free-standing restaurants in Wichita and one inside the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University.
Chick-fil-A opened its two stand-alone Wichita restaurants in 2012.
Nationally, Chick-fil-A has more than 1,700 restaurants in 39 states and Washington, D.C.
