West side officers see increase in daytime burglaries

WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita Police say they're seeing an increase in daytime burglaries in parts of the west side.

An increase in residential burglaries is impacting an area between Central to 21st and Ridge to Tyler.

Police say the break-ins are happening during the day, with thieves forcing their way in through the front door. Items reported taken include TVs, other electronics and jewelry.

Some area residents told officers that unknown persons have been ringing their doorbells or knocking on their doors, around the same time the burglaries were happening.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call 911 immediately. To report information on these crimes, please email wpd_west@wichta.gov
