Police were called to a southwest Wichita street for the second night in a row Tuesday. But unlike Monday night, the latest call apparently was a false alarm.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of South Glenn Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Initial reports indicated someone was on the street talking about a person being shot, but police determined there was no victim.
This follows a drive-by shooting Monday night in the 1800 block of South Glenn. In that case, police say two cars pulled into a yard, then someone fired four or five shots. One person was hit in the hand, while another escaped with a bullet graze to the knee.
Police say the men who were shot Monday did not belong to gangs, and insisted they did not know why they were shot. Punches were exchanged during the altercation as well.
