Three Wichita businesses have been seized by the Kansas Department of Revenue.

The Wichita Business Journal reports that the businesses owe back taxes to the state. They include Wolmac Inc., doing business as Mary’s Supper Club at 4545 S. Hydraulic, Beards Floral Design, 926 W. Second St., and R & J Tire and Wheel, 1590 W. 21st St.

The revenue department tells the Wichita Business Journal that it has seized all known bank accounts, on-site cash, business inventory and personal property belonging to the businesses’ owners, and the businesses were sealed closed.

Records show the owners of Mary's Supper Club owes about $157,000 in sales and liquor taxes. Beards Floral Design owes about $17,000 in sales taxes, while R & J Tire and Wheel owes the state about $36,000 in sales and income taxes.

The Business Journal reports that the state only executed the tax warrants after exhausting other measures to collect taxes owed to the state.
