The man suspected of murdering two people and shooting a third in Greenwood County Wednesday night was arrested in August for allegedly kidnapping a woman and two children.

Kevin Welsh, 35, was still on the run from law enforcement late Thursday night. Court documents showed he was due in court later this month for a preliminary hearing on several charges in Greenwood County.

Prosecutors allege Welsh kidnapped a woman and two children Aug. 23. He was charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of using criminal restraint, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of criminal threat and one count of domestic battery.

Welsh bonded out of jail Sept. 3.
